Training

M5 offers several different training options.

End user training modules

M5 is constantly adding to a library of end‐user focused training modules that are available on the web and on‐demand whenever a new user needs training. Here are some of the training materials presently available at training.m5net.com:

  • Basic Phone Features - The most basic phone system features like recording greetings, transferring phone calls, and accessing voicemail are all available in this 20 minute online module.
  • M5 Web Portal - This six-and-half minute video walks end‐users through every section of M5’s web portal where they can access voicemail, employee directories, as well as upload their own personal directories.
  • M5 Phone Assistant -This nine minute video walks power users and receptionists through M5’s Phone Assistant where they can see who is on the phone (across the enterprise), who they are talking to, as well as visually manage items like transfer and conferencing. Some clients have even set up touch screen setups for their receptionists.

"Train the Trainer" sessions

Beyond the training materials for end‐users, M5 offers live "train the trainer" sessions for Phone Managers and power users who will assist your organization's users to learn the phone system.

Remote training via GoToMeeting

Over sixty percent of our Live Train the Trainer sessions occur from the comfort of the user's own desk. M5 uses our conference bridge as well as a GoToMeeting session to share our screen and run through common phone scenarios. For teams that have already reviewed the training modules, the live training can focus more on issues like how you would apply a certain feature to the needs of the organization.

On‐Site Training

For clients that can afford the cost of travel expenses, the same session can be delivered in your facilities as a live, on‐site training.

Ports

Your M5 Account Manager will work with you to schedule and prepare for your Local Number Port (LNP). On the day of the port, ownership and control of your numbers will be transferred from your previous carrier to M5. Our carrier team will then perform testing to verify the transition has been completed successfully.

Go Live

The rubber hits the road at the system Go Live. Whether the trigger is a remote call forward from the previous carrier or a port, Go Live is the day that the system begins to take inbound calls. Inevitably, there are some pieces of the system design that work differently in practice than anticipated, and we excel at our ability to make quick changes and adapt the design to the reality of the organization (rather than forcing the organization to adapt). While each organization’s experience is different, these “burn‐ in” issues usually pop‐up immediately after the phones start ringing and then taper off after the first week.
